Instincts are the inborn biological drive which is responsible for developing the characteristics of behavior pattern. But they cannot truly cause development of psychic powers.

Scientists weigh perceptions by depth and height. They measure the depth of perceptions by the height cues or monocular cues. Perceptions are our psychic powers or mental abilities to deduce from observation. It is noted that many people in the past have used these instincts and perceptions to foresee their death, ahead of the time these people actually passed on. Here their inborn perceptions and instincts, as also the understanding of body and mind to some extent, might have helped them to foresee their death.

People start development of sensory perception at infancy and this is termed sensory acuity. Sensations are involved by brain perceptions which keep evolving as we become older. When one suffers a stroke, a certain degree of the sensory loss occurs. Illusions are caused by sensory perception and this is the reason why most people believe that psychic powers can be developed.
